This time, I visited MEZCAL LOVE, a Mexican restaurant and bar located right in front of Misaki Port.
When you think of Misaki, tuna probably comes to mind first. But this town also has a place with such a fun, international atmosphere. The exterior is already so distinctive that, before even stepping inside, you may find yourself wondering, “What kind of place is this?”

If you are in Misaki and want something a little different from the usual tuna lunch, this is a place I’d love you to know about.

Highlight 1: A Vibrant Mexican Spot Right in Front of Misaki Port
MEZCAL LOVE is located just in front of the Misaki Port bus stop. Its exterior wall is decorated with colorful artwork, making it stand out beautifully in this harbor town.
The restaurant is a Mexican dining bar and bar, where you can enjoy tacos and Mexican dishes from lunchtime. It has a relaxed atmosphere that makes it easy to stop by during a day of sightseeing in Misaki.
Inside, there are counter and table seats on the first floor, while the second floor has sofa seating. The restaurant has around 20 seats, so if you want to take your time and enjoy the space, making a reservation would be a good idea.

Highlight 2: A Taco Set with a Taste of Misaki

This time, I ordered the Taco Set for 1,900 yen.
Several tacos are arranged on a colorful plate that feels perfectly Mexican and fun. According to the reference information, MEZCAL LOVE offers tortillas made with corn flour, as well as tacos featuring tuna, giving the menu a local Misaki twist.
Mexican food in Misaki? It may sound a little unexpected, but the combination of harbor town ingredients and Mexican cuisine is surprisingly interesting.

“Before I knew it, I was just gazing out at the sea without thinking about anything for a while. Moments like that are lovely, aren’t they?”
It made me feel like Misaki is not only about tuna rice bowls after all—a small discovery that felt like part of the joy of traveling.
Highlight 3: A Satisfying Mexican Meal with the Enchilada Set

The other dish I ordered was the Enchilada Set for 1,800 yen.
It is different from tacos and lets you enjoy the combination of sauces and fillings in a more hearty way. Even if you are not very familiar with Mexican food, the set menu makes it easy to choose.
If you enjoy drinks, it would also be nice to pair the meal with mezcal or tequila. On the official website, mezcal is introduced as “the origin of tequila,” known for its smoky aroma and complex flavor derived from agave.

Highlight 4: Warm Hospitality from the Female Manager and the Story Behind the Restaurant

What left a strong impression on me that day was the kind hospitality of the female manager. She carefully shared stories about the drinks and the restaurant, making the place feel welcoming even for first-time visitors.
According to the magazine feature, MEZCAL LOVE has been introduced as a bar connected to the Japan Mezcal Tequila Association, with a wide selection of tequila and mezcal lined up inside. The food also incorporates authentic flavors while offering Misaki-inspired items such as tuna tacos.
Rather than being just a Mexican restaurant, this is also a place where you can discover the world of mezcal. That is what makes this small restaurant so unique.
Baby and Family Note

Children are welcome, and stroller entry is listed as possible. There are seats on both the first and second floors, but since the restaurant has a limited number of seats, making a reservation is recommended if you are visiting with a stroller or children.

Rather than a typical “moms’ lunch gathering” spot, it feels better suited for a family lunch during a day of sightseeing in Misaki. Visiting outside the busiest hours would likely make the experience more comfortable.
Dog-Friendly Information
Dogs are allowed, but according to the reference information, pet-friendly seating is limited to the first-floor table seats. Since pets are not allowed in all areas of the restaurant, it is best to check with the restaurant in advance if you plan to visit with your dog.
Terrace seating information is unconfirmed.
