Hello, this is Peli from Hayanavi. Today, I’m introducing “Kaisen Hikonoya,” a seafood restaurant located right beside Sajima Fishing Port in Yokosuka. It’s the sister restaurant of the well-known “Tonkatsu Hikonoya” in Zushi, famous for its signature white cutlet. Here, seafood takes the spotlight. I had the sashimi set meal—beautifully arranged, satisfying in portion, and full of ocean freshness. This restaurant serves fish caught the same morning from nearby ports like Sajima and Nagai, offering an authentic taste of Miura’s coast.

It’s amazing how you can find this level of quality just a short drive from Hayama or Zushi!
Attraction ① A Seafood Edition of the Beloved Zushi Restaurant
“Kaisen Hikonoya” is the seaside sister of the popular “Tonkatsu Hikonoya” in Zushi. The owner, who trained in traditional kaiseki cuisine, brings refined skill to both fried and raw dishes. Located near the port, the restaurant sources fish caught fresh that morning. Each dish is artfully presented and delicately balanced—a blend of craftsmanship and freshness that keeps both locals and visitors returning again and again.

I’ve always loved Tonkatsu Hikonoya—when I saw this place with the same name, I had to check, and sure enough, it’s run by the same team!
Attraction ② Balanced Choices: Sashimi, Fried Seafood, and Rice Bowls
The main dishes include sashimi set meals, fried seafood sets, and kaisendon rice bowls. Each costs around 2,200 yen and comes with small sides and miso soup. The sashimi selection changes daily, featuring raw whitebait and seasonal local fish. Fried items are crispy outside and tender inside, made with the same care and precision that define their tonkatsu. No matter what you choose, satisfaction is guaranteed.

The fried seafood was truly outstanding! With ingredients this fresh, how could it be anything but delicious?
Attraction ③ A Great Spot for a Light Drink with Small Plates

Beyond set meals, the restaurant also offers a variety of à la carte dishes. Fugu tataki, chicken liver, and creamy oyster croquettes are perfect for pairing with a drink in the evening. The menu changes depending on the day’s catch, so there’s always something new to discover. Whether you’re coming back from Sajima Marina or Tenjin Island, it’s an ideal place to unwind.
Baby & Kids Note

The restaurant welcomes children and strollers, making it family-friendly. Arriving just after opening at 11 AM is your best bet for a relaxed visit. There’s no dedicated kids’ menu, but sharing from the main dishes works well. The comfortable, spacious layout allows families to enjoy a calm lunch together.

The parking lot is spacious—so convenient when you’re with kids!
Dog-Friendly Information

There’s no mention of pets being allowed, so it’s safe to assume that dogs are not permitted inside, as it’s a seafood restaurant. If you’re visiting with your dog, take turns dining or enjoy a seaside walk nearby before your meal.
