This time, I’ll introduce the popular creative Chinese restaurant Seloriya located in Zushi. Although the restaurant is conveniently near the station, the cute name makes it hard to believe it’s a Chinese restaurant at first glance. However, the quality of the dishes is authentic. It has earned high ratings on Tabelog and is a must-visit spot in the Zushi and Hayama area.

Attraction ①: Healthy Chinese Cuisine Packed with Seasonal Vegetables

The most notable feature of Seloriya is the focus on seasonal vegetables.
Almost every Chinese dish served in the restaurant is made with plenty of fresh, local vegetables. Even a simple salad is more than just a side dish – its crisp texture and Chinese flavors harmonize perfectly. As a result, Seloriya’s vegetable-centric Chinese cuisine is loved by people of all ages.

I love how I can enjoy so many vegetables with Chinese food! It might be the first time I’ve had a Chinese salad this delicious.

The dim sum course I had for lunch was like a full-course meal highlighting seasonal flavors with every dish. Especially, the menu is filled with dishes that generously use vegetables, and the portion size is very satisfying. The salad was more vibrant than it looked, with colorful vegetables dressed in Chinese seasoning.
The herbal soup had a gentle taste that warmed the stomach, and the dim sum and spring rolls brought out the sweetness of the vegetables beautifully.

Attraction ②: Handmade Dim Sum and Herbal Soups Crafted with Care
At Seloriya, everything is handmade. From dim sum to desserts and even the condiments – each item is crafted with meticulous care.

The steamed dim sum and spring rolls stand out for their delicate wrapper texture and juicy filling. Water dumplings are a signature dish, but they were sold out when I visited, so I tried the pan-fried dumplings instead. Still, the crispy exterior and flavorful filling left me completely satisfied.
The herbal soup also features a well-balanced blend of vegetables and spices, offering a gentle and nourishing flavor – perfect for chilly days.

It was a bit disappointing not to have the water dumplings! But the pan-fried dumplings were amazing as well.
Attraction ③: The Chef’s Expertise and Commitment
The dishes at Seloriya are crafted by Chef Takuji Serizawa, an experienced chef who has trained at several renowned restaurants before opening his own establishment.
Chef Serizawa personally selects the ingredients, and his skill in bringing out the natural flavors of vegetables is highly acclaimed. His deep knowledge of herbal cuisine allows him to create Chinese dishes that are not only delicious but also gentle on the body.
Every dish at Seloriya reflects the chef’s dedication and years of experience. From ingredient selection to cooking methods, his uncompromising approach has attracted many loyal customers.

The attention to detail in each dish, from the preparation to the presentation, shows Chef Serizawa’s passion for cooking. Every bite feels like a culinary journey!

Attraction ④: Cozy and Relaxing Atmosphere

Seloriya’s appeal extends beyond its food – the ambiance is equally charming. The restaurant, housed in a renovated standalone home, offers a tranquil, café-like atmosphere.

The second-floor seating is intimate and perfect for a quiet, relaxed meal during off-peak hours. The first floor features counter and table seating, accommodating solo diners and groups alike.

It’s such a joy to enjoy delicious Chinese food in a cozy, relaxed setting. The peaceful ambiance adds to the whole experience!
