There’s one place I’ve had my eye on for ages…

I finally visited “Sankaku-Yane Pan to Coffee.”

Every time I passed by on a walk, I’d admire this charming white house with a triangle roof and wish it would become a café someday.

Now, that wish has come true—it’s opened as a dreamy bakery café filled with warmth.

This article introduces you to their fluffy bread, handcrafted coffee, and the heartfelt details the owner couple poured into the space.

Highlight ①: The Sweet-Savory Morning Set That Will Surprise You

The “Amajoppa French Toast Set” (¥1,550), available only on Sunday mornings, is a surprising and satisfying treat!

Thick slices of fluffy shokupan are filled with ham and cheese, then topped with maple syrup—a savory-meets-sweet twist on traditional French toast.

You can choose from coffee, tea, or juice. I went with the fresh mandarin juice, and it paired perfectly.

That subtle balance of salty and sweet made my morning feel extra special.

Right now, this breakfast set is only available on Sundays. Be sure to check their Instagram for the latest updates!

Highlight ②: Bread Made with Heart by a Passionate Couple

Sankaku-Yane is run by a passionate husband-and-wife team: Yuka Nakazawa, the baker, and Kazumichi, who handles the coffee.

The couple met in culinary school, then trained at a major nationwide bakery chain before returning to open their dream shop.

They chose Hayama as their location, inspired by the serene seaside surroundings and the slower pace of life.

The building itself is modeled after Yuka’s graduation project sketch—a blueprint of her ideal bakery, now realized in full.

Highlight #3: Fluffy, chewy bread made with the Yudane method

Their bread is made using Japanese wheat flour “Yumechikara,” known for its rich flavor. Thanks to the Yudane method, the bread stays moist and chewy even the next day.

The most popular item is the “Egg Sandwich” (¥500). Enjoyed without toasting, it lets the soft texture and natural wheat flavor shine through.

You’ll also find cakes, biscuits, and waffles at the counter—each one highlighting the simple yet deep taste of quality flour.

Highlight #4: Thoughtfully roasted and brewed coffee

Mr. Ichido, in charge of coffee, honed his craft at a popular coffee stand in Tokyo for two years. He pursued the question: “What makes coffee truly delicious?”

Now, he offers house-roasted blends using beans from Brazil, Guatemala, and Colombia. Try his expertly brewed coffee or café latte.

His current passion is light roasts. With a delicate balance of acidity and sweetness, his coffee pairs wonderfully with the bakery’s bread.

Highlight #5: A serene space of light and wood, designed with care

Designed as a combined home and bakery, the “Triangle Roof” features wide open windows and a spacious layout that welcomes light from all directions.

With fixed windows and double terraces on each side, sunlight streams in to fill the room with warmth.

Sitting in a rocking chair, gazing at the backyard—it’s like stepping into a picture book.

For Families with Babies & Toddlers

Baby chairs are available, and the restroom is equipped with a diaper-changing station.

Designed with young families in mind, the space is warm and accommodating.

We recommend visiting during off-peak hours for a more relaxed experience.

Pet-Friendly Info

Dogs are welcome on the terrace!

Grab some takeout and enjoy a peaceful moment on the bench with your pup.
