Opening: Why not take a little break while looking at the ocean?
Have you ever thought, “Is there a place in Hayama where I can truly relax?”
This time, I found the perfect spot for that.
I visited “SAND BAR,” an open and airy cafe inside Hayama Umino Hotel.
Interestingly, this place used to be an area that wasn’t easily accessible to the public.
Now, it has transformed into a welcoming, open space where anyone can stop by.

“This place feels amazing… I only planned to stay for a bit, but ended up staying much longer.”
I actually had lunch here, so let me show you all the highlights!

Highlight ①: A resort-like space filled with ocean views and natural light

The moment you step inside, you’ll notice the high ceilings and incredible sense of openness.
Sunlight pours in through large windows, with the ocean stretching out in front of you.
Natural materials like driftwood blend beautifully into the interior, creating a calm, Hayama-style atmosphere.
Since it’s connected to the hotel lounge,
it offers a relaxing yet slightly extraordinary experience beyond a typical cafe.

Highlight ②: A satisfying lunch with a stunning ocean view

This time, I ordered
the Misaki tuna and salmon ahi poke plate.
Fresh tuna and salmon are paired with avocado, creating a vibrant and colorful dish.
The house-made wasabi soy sauce adds a nice touch, making it light yet deeply satisfying.

“It’s lighter than it looks, but still super delicious… I finished it so quickly!”
Many dishes highlight local ingredients,
which makes it even better—you can enjoy a wholesome and nourishing lunch.
Highlight ③: A perfectly balanced spot you can use from morning to night

SAND BAR is a place you can enjoy at any time of day—morning, lunch, cafe time, and even at night.
It opens early for breakfast, continues through lunch and cafe hours, and stays open into the evening.
There are various seating options, including sofas, tables, tatami-style seating, and counter seats,
making it comfortable whether you’re alone or with a group.
With Wi-Fi and power outlets available, it’s also a great place for remote work or casual meetings.
Highlight ④: A popular spot included in the Hayama travel pass

This cafe is also included in the “Hayama Girls’ Trip Pass,”
making it a popular destination for visitors and tourists.
With meals, souvenirs, and transportation bundled together,
it’s an easy and convenient stop—even for first-time visitors to Hayama.
If you’re wondering “Where should I go?”,
this is one of those perfectly balanced places you can’t go wrong with.
Highlight ⑤: Enjoy ocean time on the terrace

On the terrace, you can relax while feeling the ocean breeze.
From peaceful mornings to soft, glowing sunsets,
you can enjoy different expressions of the sea throughout the day.

“You really lose track of time here… it’s the perfect place to just zone out.”
With Kids & Babies

Strollers are welcome, and children are welcome too.
The seating is spacious, with tables and tatami-style areas available,
making it a great choice for casual meetups with other moms.
If it’s busy, visiting at a slightly different time will help you enjoy a more relaxed experience.
Dog-Friendly Info
Pets are allowed on the terrace only.
While pets are not allowed inside, on a nice day you can relax outside,
making it a perfect stop during a walk with your dog.
