Today, I’m excited to introduce a wonderful lunch spot in Hayama – “Marlowe Hayama Marina Store”. This restaurant cafe, operated by the famous sweets brand Marlowe, offers a luxurious space with spectacular views of Sagami Bay and Mount Fuji.
I visited on a sunny day. I had hoped to sit on the terrace, but the wind was too strong… However, even from inside the restaurant, the large windows provided breathtaking views of Mount Fuji over Sagami Bay.
Did you think Marlowe was just about pudding? Surprise! Marlowe actually started as a restaurant. The original location in Akiya began serving local dishes, and they’ve continued that tradition ever since.

Highlight 1: Luxurious Lunch Menu for a Gourmet Experience
This time, I enjoyed:
- Lasagna with Homegrown Vegetable Mini Salad and Drink Set (2,090 yen)
- Rich Japanese Beef Stew with Oven-Baked Vegetables (2,750 yen)
The lasagna was much more hearty than I expected, served piping hot with melting cheese on top. Each bite delivered a perfect balance of rich meat sauce and creamy béchamel, creating a truly indulgent experience.
The beef stew, on the other hand, was packed with large chunks of vegetables – especially the turnips and potatoes that stood out! The beef was so tender that it melted in my mouth.
This lasagna is surprisingly filling! The beef stew was luxurious and left me completely satisfied!
Both dishes were incredibly satisfying, leaving my stomach and heart full.
Highlight 2: A Relaxing Space with Stunning Views
The biggest draw of “Marlowe Hayama Marina Store” is undoubtedly the breathtaking location. The large windows offer panoramic views of Sagami Bay and Mount Fuji, and on clear days, you can even see Enoshima and the Sea Candle.
The terrace also welcomes dogs, allowing you to dine with your furry friends. Imagine enjoying lunch with your beloved pet while feeling the ocean breeze – it’s the perfect picture of relaxation.
The wind kept me from sitting on the terrace, but the view from inside was just as incredible!
At sunset, the sky and ocean turn shades of orange, creating a scene straight out of a movie. Once you experience this, you’ll never forget it.
Highlight 3: Marlowe’s Signature Beaker Pudding is a Must!
When you think of Marlowe, the first thing that comes to mind is their famous “Beaker Pudding”. The dessert menu is extensive, making it a great spot to stop by even just for sweets after a meal.
This time, I was too full from lunch to order pudding, but I made a mental note to come back for it next time!
Popular options like the Hokkaido Fresh Cream Pudding and Custard Pudding are said to be incredibly rich and delicious.
Next time, I’ll definitely have the pudding! It’s worth visiting just for dessert time!
