This time, I’m introducing Nagisabashi Coffee Zushi, located right by Zushi Beach.
If you live around Hayama or Zushi, you may have heard of this cafe before. It is a spacious seaside cafe open from 7:00 in the morning until night, making it easy to use for breakfast, lunch, or a casual coffee break by the ocean.
On its official website, Nagisabashi Coffee is described as “a third place that is neither home nor work, where you can spend time feeling the sea.” And that description felt exactly right. It is a place where you can slow down and enjoy your own time while looking out at the ocean.

Famous places can actually be harder to introduce, but this location really is hard to beat.

Highlight 1: A Beautiful Location Overlooking Zushi Beach

The biggest charm of Nagisabashi Coffee is, without a doubt, its location facing the sea.
From inside the cafe and from the terrace seats, you can look out over Zushi Beach. The moment you sit down, your mood changes. On clear days, you may even be able to see Enoshima and Mt. Fuji beyond the sea.
Rather than a small independent cafe, it has the easy comfort of a familiar cafe restaurant. But simply being able to see the ocean makes your usual coffee or meal feel a little more special.
It is a very convenient spot for anyone who wants to take a break between work, chat with friends while looking at the sea, or rest during a Hayama and Zushi sightseeing day.
Highlight 2: Open from 7:00 AM, Perfect for a Seaside Morning

One of the great things about Nagisabashi Coffee is that it opens from 7:00 in the morning.
I often come here for breakfast too. Cafes where you can spend the morning while looking at the sea feel surprisingly rare, even in this coastal area.
The official website also suggests many different ways to enjoy the cafe, including breakfast, lunch, remote work, a weekend morning routine, stopping by during a dog walk, or taking a break during a drive or day trip.
That said, sunny weekends and summer days can get very crowded. If you want a slower, more relaxed visit, weekdays or early mornings are the best times to go.

“Seaside cafes getting crowded on sunny weekends is basically destiny. If you like taking it slow, weekdays are much easier.”
Highlight 3: The Real Star This Time Was the French Fries

This time, I ordered the seasonal homemade matcha pudding (680 yen), a cafe latte set (+300 yen), and the French fries (780 yen).
Honestly, the item that left the biggest impression on me was the French fries.
The portion was huge. Even sharing with four people, they barely disappeared. Crispy, salty, and perfect for slowly snacking on while looking out at the sea.
On the other hand, the seasonal homemade matcha pudding was much smaller than I expected from the photos. Considering the price, it makes sense, but it felt more like a small sweet treat after a meal rather than a dessert you order for volume.

Highlight 4: It Has a Chain Restaurant Feel, But the View Still Makes It Special

To be honest, the food has the familiar comfort of a chain-style cafe restaurant.
According to the official website, the menu includes their popular Nagisa Burger, pasta, gratin, French toast, parfaits, cakes, and many other casual dishes.
Rather than visiting for one extraordinary dish, this feels like a place where you come to relax with friends or family while enjoying the ocean view. And when you think of it that way, the appeal of Nagisabashi Coffee becomes much clearer.
It’s not really “a cafe you visit for the food.” It’s more a cafe where you enjoy the entire experience of spending time in front of the sea. That atmosphere is what makes this place special.

“Why do fries taste so much better when you eat them with an ocean view?”
Highlight 5: After Your Meal, You Can Walk Straight to Zushi Beach

Another great thing about Nagisabashi Coffee is that you can head directly to Zushi Beach after your meal.
Spend some time by the sea inside the cafe, then walk over to the beach for a short stroll. That alone creates a small vacation feeling.
For families with children, it’s fun to stop by the beach after eating. And for visitors traveling around Hayama or Zushi, it becomes one of those moments that really makes you feel, “I’m in the Shonan area now.”
What makes Nagisabashi Coffee special is that the experience doesn’t end inside the cafe. The seaside walk afterward is part of the experience too.
Family & Kids Note
According to the reference information, children are welcome here. The cafe has around 100 seats and a spacious layout, making it comfortable for families.
However, weekends and sunny summer days can become extremely crowded. If you are visiting with babies or small children, choosing quieter hours may make the experience much easier.
For moms meeting up with friends, the ocean view, spacious seating, and parking make this cafe very convenient. However, reservations are not available, so it may not be ideal if you need guaranteed seating for a larger gathering.
Dog-Friendly Information
There is a large terrace area, and dogs are allowed on the terrace seats.
However, the terrace may close depending on the weather. Even on sunny days, strong winds can cause the terrace area to close, so checking with the cafe beforehand is recommended.

Summary: It May Be Famous, But Ocean Views Never Get Old

Nagisabashi Coffee Zushi is already a very well-known spot around the area.
But once you visit, it becomes very easy to understand why people keep coming back. There is something comforting about being able to spend time by the ocean from morning until night.
The food is casual cafe-style dining, but the time spent looking at Zushi Beach adds value all by itself.
Breakfast, lunch with friends, family outings, stopping by during a dog walk, or taking a break during a drive. It is one of those classic seaside spots that works for almost any occasion.
Because it gets crowded easily, visiting on weekdays or during the morning is recommended if you want a slower and quieter atmosphere.
