This time, I would like to introduce “Enoshima goya” located in 😆Fujisawa, a short distance away from my beloved Hayama 🙌.
As the name suggests, it is a house located at the foot of Enoshima. It has the feel of a hut-like hideaway.
It is a very popular and delicious fish restaurant located along the river leading to Enoshima.
Winner of the Kaisen-don Grand Prix for 10 consecutive years, enjoy a bowl of makanai rice wrapped in seaweed at first and served with soup rice at the end.
Be prepared for long lines on holidays! The restaurant is crowded even on weekdays, so I recommend a time after peak lunch time, such as 2:00 pm!

Location
The Enoshima Goya is located next to the Enoshima Aquarium across the parking lot, just before crossing the bridge connecting Enoshima to the mainland. There is no dedicated parking lot, but you can use the large parking lot there.
It is a great place to drive around and have lunch.
Thankfully, they are not closed and are open all day from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., so you can avoid the long lines if you avoid the peak hours.
Popular menu items may be gone after peak hours!

Enoshima Goya” is a long-established restaurant that opened in 2005 and has been in business for nearly 20 years.
The large, single-story restaurant has quite a history.
Introduction
The restaurant is quite large when combined with the outside deck seating. In total, there are 58 seats.
The inside seating is connected to the outside deck seating by a large window, so even when you are inside you can see the outside light, the river and the sea of Enoshima.
The kitchen is also semi-open, making the restaurant very bright and open.

I have not seen it yet, but when the season is good, the plastic house seems to be removed and released as shown in the above Instagram.

More than just makanai donburi! Delicious local fish!
The restaurant’s signature dishes are the grand-prix-winning makanai-don and horo-horo-don, but the menu also includes a wide variety of other dishes.
Popular fresh shirasu, kama-age shirasu, and fried fish are also very popular.
According to the website, although the fresh shirasu is popular, locals do not eat it very often.
The locals, it seems, are not so intrigued by the sound of “nama shirasu” (raw baby sardines).
I, too, think that kama-age shirasu is definitely tastier,
I also think that kama-age shirasu is more chic, as it has the distinctive flavor of each shirasu restaurant.
I think it is a chic dish.
Being a meek person, I ordered the Nama shirasu, kama-age shirasu, chic, isn’t it? But when I come to Enoshima, I tend to order raw shirasu! I thought.

I ordered the limited quantity “SAPPORO Shiro Honoka”. Since I am the driver, my mother had it!

My mother liked this restaurant very much. Whenever I have important people over, I bring them to this restaurant!
We then enjoyed fresh shirasu. Fresh shirasu is not always available on Enoshima because it is often not caught.
On this day, we were able to enjoy very fresh raw shirasu.
When I was working in Akasaka, Tokyo, I ate raw shirasu at an expensive restaurant, but it was so bitter and tasteless that I hated it for a while.
Enoshima-goya’s Raw Shirasu is the best!
I ordered rice set.
It is best when eaten on top of Nori. (The nori is from the makanai donburi. It is not included in the set.)
Next time, I want to try the kama-age shirasu rice bowl.

You can’t see the inside of the bowl because it is covered with seaweed😅 The impact is amazing.
This set comes with a makanai-don, a bowl of soup with delicious dashi soup, and oshinko (Japanese pickles).
After the flippers were removed, the main character appeared. A generous portion of nameko (nameko mushroom) has appeared. The fish is pounded and seasoned with miso, and covered with a secret sesame sauce.
Enoshima Hut is particular about its ingredients, and the wasabi is made from real wasabi from Nishi-Izu.
They also use organic ginger from Teresa Farm in Kochi Prefecture, raw miso from the Izumihashi Sake Brewery, and completely pesticide-free rice.
It is reassuring to know that the producer’s face is visible, and the ingredients taste even better.

The makanai-don is the main dish, but I am a big fan of the dashi that comes with it. It is no exaggeration to say that I have come here many times because of this dashi.
I always get another bowl. Thankfully, refills are free.
Soup rice is the best. You can’t miss this way of eating.
Baby and child note
This is a restaurant that welcomes people with babies and children. When I was there, there was a family with a small baby.
